Qatar Academy Al Khor is an IB World School authorized to deliver the PYP, MYP and DP curriculum, and is recognized with MSA Accreditation. The QAK academic programs are designed to meet the national requirement and international standards. Hence, QAK uses different approaches to teaching and learning applying the concept-based and inquiry-based curriculum in an effort to provide students with content knowledge as well as engage them with inquiries and develop their awareness of the world around them.

The vast majority of students graduate from the school with an IB Bilingual Diploma, IB Diploma or through IB Courses, in order to receive Ministry of Education accreditation. . English is the language of instruction in all disciplines and subjects except Arabic, Islamic Studies and Qatar History which are taught in Arabic.
In Primary, Art is integrated into the Unit of Enquiry and taught in both Arabic and English classes; in addition, in EEC, Music and PE are also part of our Dual Language programme of instruction.

QAK is one of the largest schools in the QF family with over 1230 students, Qatar Academy Al Khor (QAK) is organized into Primary and High School divisions, with an Early Education Center with classes in Preschool 3, Preschool 4 and Kindergarten.
Over 95% of QAK students are Qatari and a large majority are English Language Learners. Boys and girls are taught in mixed classes for the PYP and the DP, and separately for the MYP (Grades 6 – 10). QAK is an inclusive school that serves a wide variety of learning needs and abilities.

QAK has at the heart of its Mission to develop our students’ intercultural understanding and to reflect respect for Arab values and the Qatari national heritage and culture.   • A clear criminal record check that is attested by a notary from the country of issue and by the Qatari Embassy.
  • A clear medical history for HIV, Hepatitis B and C, and Tuberculosis
