History

Qatar Academy Al Khor started classes on September 7, 2008 for Kindergarten 1 and 2 and Grades 1 through 4. The projected growth of the school has been set at one Grade level per year up to Grade 12, which was achieved in 2016 when they moved to the new campus. The state-of-the-art building is located in the city of Al Khor North of Qatar.

As a full IB World School that predominantly educates native Qatari students and longtime residents, QAK is especially dedicated to developing local human capital. QAK seamlessly blends its world-class international curriculum with Qatar’s heritage and culture. In part, this is achieved by enabling students to thrive in a truly bilingual environment that develops rich language skills in English and Arabic concurrently, since the student base is predominantly Qatari.

QAK strives to empower students to be open-minded, inquiring and knowledgeable life-long learners who are able to adapt to an ever-changing world through intercultural understanding and respect.

At QAK, we envision our future leaders as courageous problem-solvers who will make a positive difference in the world.
