First Cohort Graduating

Qatar Academy Al Khor celebrated the graduation of its first cohort, Class of 2017, on Tuesday May 23rd, 2017, at the new campus in Al Khor. 

Miss Buthaina Al Nuaimi, President of Pre-University Education, opened the ceremony by highlighting the strong impact Qatar Academy Al Khor has had on the local community and its commitment to reinforcing the Qatar Foundation mission and vision. Mr. Ali Al Fadala, Chairman of the QAK Board of Governors, Mr. Hamad Hamdan Al Mohannadi, Director of the Department of Heritage at the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage, as well as Mrs. Aisha Al Megbali, QAK Director, addressed the graduates and guests and praising the students’ achievements.

 Members of Qatar Foundation Leadership, Qatar Academy Doha administrators, parents and community members were present among the esteemed guests to proudly commemorate the graduation of the school’s first cohort. The Academy’s Director, Mrs. Al Megbabali, expressed her thoughts prior to the ceremony: "Today we celebrate our students; leaders of tomorrow and a true reflection of our unique identity and culture. Moving forward, the memories of QAK will remain to empower them, remind them of their valuable roots and mark the beginning of the journey to success. With that being said, QAK is determined to be the foundation of excellence, on which a strong and vibrant Al Khor will continue to grow and thrive as a community. Good luck to our precious first cohort of graduates; QAK will always be your home”

The class Valedictorian, Noora Ibrahim Al Mohannadi, and Salutatorian Saad Essa Al Muhannadi, also reflected on their experience at QAK and the way the school’s vision empowered them and the entire cohort, to achieve academic excellence and become responsible citizens.

The graduates’ families and teachers were happy and proud to celebrate this day, which marked the harvest of all the efforts and achievements.  The school’s administration distributed the Awards for Excellence in all the disciplines, as well as the Honors Award to Noora Ibrahim Al Mohannadi and Mr. Saad Essa Al Muhannadi.
